Hi

Marriages found on freebmd cannot be looked up for further info unless the church in which the marriage took place is known.  Certificates need to be purchased to find the info you need.

HI
Not the answer to your query but the marriage appears to be one listed at Lenton Church 6.7.1873. There is also a Christening at the same Church 3.8.1873, Mary Anne Wilson Foster (born 18.6.1873) to parents William/Sarah. William is a Labourer of Wellington Terrace.

Yes that is the family,i think William is the younger brother of my 2 x great grand father, but his place of birth on census after marriage is not correct,he gves Holbeach on 1881 and Gedney Hill on 1891,but the only birth reg.at Holbeach within two years of his age,is that of my 2x great grand fathers, which was in Holbeach district. On the 1881 census they have a daughter Lucy down as born Radford, but i can`t find a birth reg.for her

Hi

Radford is the registration district and Lenton is the parish. Just to confuse everyone Radford is also a parish.

There is a William Foster born Bleasby 7.4.1850 to George (a shoemaker) and Anne. But Bleasby is miles from Lenton. I cannot see a Sarah born at the right time in Lenton. Only 1859 which would make her 14 when Mary was born!

I also checked on the NFHS burial records to try and find Sarah but nothing.

I have extensive Foster family in Nottm but cannot connect.

Do you have any further information for Nottm?

Jane

My Fosters came to Nottingham from cambridgeshire via northants,i think the William married to Sarah, was the younger brother of my 2 x great grand father Charles,he was born at Thorney,William at Sutton St. Edmunds, they had brothers and sisters born at Whittlesey and another sister at Thorney. On 1881 census Charles was still living in Nottingham his parents and youngest sister were living with him,i think his sister Mary Ann wed a Richard Manser at Nottingham, wether they all went to Nottingham together,or Charles and his family went first and the rest followed,i have no idea, their first child in Nottingham was born in 1874 bapt.at Christ church Radford
