In my family tree I have 2 Christopher Lowthers father and son the younger Christopher was born in 1816 married Hannah Mason and had 2 children John Mason Lowther and Ann Lowther (born 1842), Christopher Junior died in 1845 the older Christopher was born around 1791 in Kirby in Cleveland and married Elizabeth Dodgson no death for him at present, here is the younger Christopher in 1841
1841 HO107. P. 1261/5 Fol. 10 Pg. 13Eastgate, Southside, PickeringChristopher Lowther 20 Ag Lab Hannah Lowther 20 both born in county.
and then I found this census in 1851
1851 Christopher Lowther Age: 56 abt 1795 born: Scruton, Christopher Lowther 56 Jane Lowther 15 Ann Lowther 13 Sarah Lowther 10 Mary Lowther 7 HO107/2370/ 101 Pg 13
I know Ann's age is slightly out but I've not found another 1851 census for her living with her mother Hannah who had remarried John Gibson by the time of the 1851 Census, the worrying thing if this is correct the info on Ancestry states that Christopher is Ann's father whereas he would be her Grandfather. I have had a lot of problems trying to find info on the Lowther's so if this is Christopher with his Grandchildren then it may be that Ann has more siblings than John.

Hi Heywoode
I agree with you it looks like Ann 9 is the right one after all. I'm still wondering if her grandfather remarried or his other children were missing from the IGI as I only had one son Christopher to Christopher and Elizabeth.I haven't got ancestry full membership at home, only the free one, I use the library computers to view their ancestry subscription it's £5 a year for 3 hours a week (usually lucky if I get chance to grab a hour on the computers, yesterday there was a course starting so it was a quick 35 mins search) I have a big list of missing census returns for both Pete's side and mine of our family tree so it's a case of checking as many as poss and save it to a memory stick then look in detail at home, I only had Christopher's (1795) yesterday and the one for Christopher the son for 1841, Carole found me the one for John and Ann in 1851 yesterday after I started this post.
Did the 1841 census give any mention to Elizabeth? The 1841 for Christopher his son is the one living with the Medd family. I'll try and view the 1841 census you found for Christopher the father when I'm next in the library.
By any chance have you come across a census 1851 for Hannah Mason's grandmother Hannah Webster? Hannah had 3 illegitimate children John, Mary and Ann all born Crayke and then married John Webster in Crayke in 1809 so it would seem this is her in 1841, I've no death for her or John. I'm finding another Hannah same age hubby John but she is born Bridwell which looks like South Yorkshire so I think this one is the right one
Hannah Webster Age: 71 abt 1770 Craike Stockton Durham Hannah Webster 71 Peter Bell 89 HO107; 317; Book 4

Hi Heywoode
This is the info I have on Christopher, Christopher Lowther (Peter’s 4 x Gt-Grandfather) born 1791 in Kirby in Cleveland to John Lowther and Elizabeth Wright Bapt on 13 February 1791 IGI C040761 and his son Christopher Lowther 01 DEC 1816 Pickering, Yorkshire, IGI C108751 Parents Christopher and Elizabeth, the only other Christopher Lowther between 1780 and 1820 showing on the IGI is one born in Leeds 1804. I do know my Christopher Lowther married Elizabeth Dodgson in Pickering 10/5/1814 IGI M108751, so although his birth is Kirby In Cleveland he was living in Pickering at the time of his son's birth. I've had a look and I think I've found Elizabeth's death January Qtr 1861, aged abt 68, in Pickering.
I have found a marriage for a Christopher Lowther and Sarah Agar in Brandsby 25/11/1853 IGI M105061, they also had a son Christopher in 1846
There's 3 deaths for Christopher Lowther in Easingwold in 1847, 1859 and 1860 that I've found having a look on freebmd, but I think the most likely one for my Christopher is the only other Yorkshire death I can see besides the younger Christopher in Pickering and that's one in Helmsley in 1848 on Freebmd, if so then he will only be on the 1841 census and as you suspected the Christopher I originally found living in Brandsby is a different one, even if I end up not finding my older Christopher in the 1841 census at least your suspicions look right about Ann living with her mum Hannah but with a misspelling in the 1851 Census of Ann instead of Hannah.
