I have a Hannah Mason 31/12/1820 in Pickering According to other family trees Hannah died on 1 July 1861, aged abt 40. Christopher Lowther married Hannah Mason when he died she remarried to John Gibson (b1821) 1849 at Pickering, . Christopher and Hannah had 2 children Ann Lowther and John Mason Lowther, she had one son Robert born to John
I've found a Hannah born Pickering married to John in the census returns the only trouble is she is still alive in 1891 and has several more children whose births I cannot find, so is this the right Hannah after all, or is the info on other people's trees wrong

1891 Hannah Gibson Age: 70 abt 1821 born: Pickering, Hannah Gibson 70 George Gibson 42 Mary Ann Gibson 13 Joseph W Gibson 7 John Milestone 17 RG12/ 3989/86 Pg 4
I have not found an 1851 census for Hannah.

Hi Carole
Perhaps George was an Illegitimate child, I have put another post in this section as I did find one possible census for Ann in 1851 see Christopher Lowther's post, there is a Christopher who would seem to be Ann Lowther's grandfather even though her age is slightly out the trouble is it has him down as Father if so perhaps he remarried and had a daughter Ann.
I have a feeling this is going to be like Annie Louise Taylor on my side of the family tree, her family drove me mad trying to find her in the census then I found out her mum had remarried Nathan Bagshaw Hirst and because he already had a daughter Annie she was listed as Louise Hirst in 1891 but she reverted back to Annie Louise Taylor for her marriage to Fred Lyon, so perhaps that could be how Ann Lowther became Ann Gibson, it's all confusing these families changing names. I still haven't found out what happened to Robt Gibson who was born in 1850 yet.
