william elliot          born 1801 in handley dorset
                             married 1.mary frampton  20/1/1822 in pentridge
                             married 2. ann pulman 27/1/1842 in sixpenny handley

does anyone have info on william? i.e. his parents or siblings etc

Have you got the cert for his second marriage (post 1837)
That would give his father's name and occupation.

Yes i do have the marriage cert and his afthers name is also william a labourer
so now i am looking for him, but cant find his birth in handley? even though he married in handley and died in handley.

In 1801 it will  be a christening record in a Parish register- if he was christened of course!
Have you been through Handely parsih register? He may not have been chr as a small baby, I have seen entries for quite old children.
Also it was not unusual for a first baby to be taken back to the brides home parish to be chrsitened  (often where the marriage had been) even if the couple had settled elsewhere.
Or sometimes you find a child christeend in a neighbouring parish for no obvious reason - maybe they just didnt get on with the vicar at their 'local' at the time and worshipped in the neighbouring parish. Ofen it was just across a field or two, and for ag labs was just as local. May be friends or rellies went there, so they did too.
Maybe he just wasnt chrisitened.
