Hi
It would seem that William Henry Skull 1882-1952 was a Bad Boy. He married Rose Mills in Newmarket  in 1906 (2Q 3b 1201) , they had 6 children (incl Winifred Daisy).

He then married  Bessie Emma Osbaldstone  in Christchurch in 1922 (3Q 2b 1716). They had 2 children.
My Father in Law, (his grandson), remembers being told he "went away" leaving Rose to bring up the 6 kids.
Any idea where I can find out if they Divorced?  Or was it Bigamy? Huh

Hmm.... not sure how you'd find out about divorce records.

My Gran married bigamously, then went on to get granted administration for the estate of her first husband, claiming that she was his widow!!!! I guess as the second marriage was presumably void then she would've been his widow.

Hi Daisy
cant be sure, I have very little info on ROSE,  I picked up from somewhere that she was born in 1890.  If that is her she wold have been born in 1878.  I am just waiting for Winifred Daisies Birth Cert.  I think I need to order Roses Marriage Cert to get more detail.

Thanks for looking, I will keep this thread open as I am sure more questions will arise.
Thanks again
Peter

Hi,

I can't see the details of the 1911 census but finding out who's living with William Henry SKULL age 28  in Malmesbury gives,

Hi,

Don't worry, I didn't use any credits although I'm often sorely tempted Smiley

I found William Henry SKULL in Malmesbury then used the advanced search to see what other SKULLs were living with him. That's why I can't see the image or see details like birthplace, but sometimes just playing about with the advanced search can give lots of info  Cool Smiley

Well I have ordered thier Marriage Cert today.  Daisy, you may not have read the entire thread but this is my Wifes Line.  However My Mills lot start in Suffolk an a branch are in Wiltshire so My Annie and I could be related in Blood as well as by Marriage.  This is my quest at the moment.

Thanks again Daisy and Paula and Jen.

Hi,

So now we know Rose MILLS was born abt.1878 in Oxfordshire, I think what looked like Chalbury could be Charlbury which was in the Chipping Norton registration district.

Births
Rose MILLS    Dec Q 1877    Chipping Norton    3a  742

I can't find her on any census nor can I find a suitable death Sad
Hopefully there will be some info on the marriage cert.

Daisy

Thanks for that Daisy,
I guess you got a look at the 1911 before it was deleted?  Marriage Cert should be here this week.  Can't wait to see who her Father was, it may then link with my Mills Tree.
