Seeking a SCULL/SKULL
« on: Wednesday 27 May 09 16:21 UTC (UK) »

Hi all
looking for the birth of Winifred Daisy SCULL.  All I have is that she married Reginald Stanley GODDARD in 1936 - Chippenham 2Q 5a 199.  She died in 2007.
She is my Wifes GMother and I am stuck with just her name.
Any help will be more than welcome.
Cheers
Peter

And another, more likely one, given the county.

Mar 1915 Malmesbury, 5a/94
Skull Winifred D

Oops, sorry I should have said that on the later one, the mother's maiden surname is Mills.

Hi Jen
I think Malmesbury is likely to be the one, have just phoned my wife and she died in her 90s.
Mills is a bit of a shock though, I (as you will have guessed) am a Mills and somewhere on my tree are a branch of the Mills lot who were in Wiltshire Shocked

That's a bit disturbing for you. Grin

I can't see an obvious marriage but there are several siblings.
All Malmesbury
Jun 1913, 5a/117 - Alma E
Jun 1916, 5a/86 Maurice W
Sep 1919, 5a/86 Ivy R

Wiltshire seems to be full of Skulls in 1911.

Yes, I saw that one but it's the wrong way round, isn't it.

I think this will need a birth certificate.

If I have time later, I'll have a hunt through the BMDs on A******y and see if I can come up with anything for you.

Hi,

From the Wiltshire BMD site, Winifred D Scull married Reginald S Goddard in Dauntsey in 1936. The registers are held at the Wilts history centre.

Hope that helps
Paula

PS - Not sure if we've been in touch before, but I also have a Mills connection to Lavenham, Suffolk.

I may possibly be able to visit the Wilts RO on Saturday - if so, I will have a look at the marriage entry for you.

Hi Paula
that would be fantastic.  Don't worry if you cant as I have Winifred Daisie's Birth cert on order.  This should give me both parents names (assuming Father IS named).
Thanks
