Hi davidjairo, your best plan may be to get a copy of your dad,s marriage certificate( from scotlands people ) it should tell you who his parents were and where he was married and any witnesses  and work back from it.

Not sure about that one, but you should be able to get a copy of a birth certificate and that will give you his parents names and where he was born. Try the site for the general registrar for scotland

Hi  Smiley

Full details of ordering BMDs that aren't available online are given here:

http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/bdm.html

His birth registration will be on the Scotlands People site but you'll have to order it via the site:

Hi again  Smiley

I've just checked the marriage records 1900-1920 for Dumfrieshire. There are 3 marriages of a Little to a Jean/ie:

1902 John Little to Jeanie McCartney, Kelton
1911 Christopher Dun Little to Jeanie Bell, Canonbie
1914 Walter Little to Jeanie Brown Davidson, Canonbie

Of course, none of these may be correct but the names might jog a memory.

Hi

If no father's name was listed then Jeanie was probably not married.

How sure are you that your father had a twin?

Dave ~

Do you remember when your father's birthday was? You might have sent him a card  Undecided

Otherwise, I think it will be ordering his marriage certificate. The info that we've found is confusing.
