The above was my great grandad - he became city surveyor/engineer of Edinburgh in late 1890's. His name is on a couple of bridges in Edinburgh. My grandma was Gracie Turner Proudfoot and she married a Samuel Fowler. I have undertaken a considerable amount of research, but have only one photo of my grandma and no one else. If anyone has any info which may help me I would like to hear from them. Any photos would be a boon. This Proudfoot family was quite extensive, so it may ring a bell with someone. Ian
What do you have and what do you want? Have you got further back than your great grandfather/mother, do you have siblings for them etc. Do you have census records, bmds?
I take it you've entered David Crawford Proudfoots name on Google Books. It comes up in at least the first 2 hits. Posting this as a lot of people will just skip over the message unless they know what you're looking for?
Good luck with your searching.

Thank you piglet and ev. Google books gave me much info on DP, but also gave me info on my grandad Samuel Fowler of Toronto - not before known. I owe you many thanks. Also ev, more info than I had on DP has been obtained, with the hope of more to come. Grateful thanks to you both. Ian
