Leicester poor law records?

Hi, I have a baptism for someone in my tree in 1789 at St Margaret's Leicester who is marked as pauper in the register.

Just wondering are there any records which might give more info about paupers around this time? What sort of details would the records show?

Hi Mike the details I have for the baptism are:

John Maples, son of Francis & Eliz Maples, Paup. Born 16 March 1789, Baptised 20 March 1789, St Margaret's, Leicester.

I also have another baptism for a child with the same parents, Mary Maples baptised 28 Feb 1785, St Martin, Leicester.

What I'd really like to know is if the poor law records give any details for the parents, Francis Maples & Elizabeth, because I know nothing about them so far.
