ref pettet yesterday
« on: Thursday 28 May 09 15:09 UTC (UK) »

After your help yesterday in finding Georges parents,(previous post) I think I have discovered them on 81 census, but surname spelt Pettitt...
The only query I have is the dates of birth are wrong for George and his Father James and can find no trace of his siblings on any later census. It all fits into place as I know the family moved to surrey/ Middlesex at some point and George married in London
I know dates can be entered wrong but it seems so far out with George, but to much of a coincidence not to be the same family surely? Huh
1881
rg11/526 folio27 page 47..

Wonder if you can advise or help once again as trying to find Georges Siblings, George had by 1891 become PETTET and was married.
Thankyou Baggsy B

Hi Baggsy

all the ages are out for the family, so it might have been 18 and not 8, to much of a coincident for it not to be them, and as George married in 1882 , I think its a mistake by the census taker

Thanks Ricky I assumed that as well, big gap between George and James though...!!

Will go with it anyway, but seems they all disappear again 1891 /1901 census...What a nightmare family... Grin

Hi Ricky
Yes found George on both those census, but trying to find others, thought Nelly might be easy as unusual name, but nothing not even on 1911...!  Not sure if their birth dates are correct either. Can't even find any death records..
Will keep at it but to tired to do more tonight.Going round in circles.. wondered if it's worth posting on middx forum?
Thanks for help as always..
