Good morning
The Claxton's were amongst many families from Norfolk who came to Kirkby, Notts.
All the info. posted by Dizzifish (Sheila) is spot on. There were several Claxton brothers who came here - family also lived Carlton. (Originally born in Wighton.)
In Heanor there is a Claxton Street - built by Alfred W. - descendants still there!!!
Ashfield District Council have Cemetery records on line for Kirkby (Kingsway old & new) - I'll need to dig out my notes to help you find burial entries!!!

My interest is actually in the Wright family - my dh is a descendant. I'm not sure that I've got the right family here though and the Hannah I'm looking for (a sister of dh's direct line) was also born in Norfolk. I was searching around as the sisters seem to have moved to Notts together and also cos the direct line is quite difficult and I'm looking for other evidence!
Thinking hat needed on this one I think ...
