Last night I clicked the email notification link in my inbox. That was on my netbook, which I consciously logged out of when I finished. (22.00approx)
This morning on my main computer I had to login, therefore I had logged out previously, and so far have had no problems. Will  keep you all posted if it happens again.

Well, it certainly seems as though we've solved part of your query as you clicked email notification and were taken directly to the topic reply (and nothing would then show under new replies as Jen and I have been saying). Perhaps the other matter regarding being logged in is something to do with your computer, browser or something.

I've had my notifications turned off since a month after I joined (too many e-mails, else!).  When I log in, I click on 'New replies' and/or 'unread replies'. That way I don't miss anything that I'm interested in.
