George Shearer born 18 Sep 1797 Stronsay
Married: Helen Miller
Their children were:(all born Stronsay).
Peter b: 1822
George b: 1827
James b: 1829
Isabella b: 1837
John b: ?
Is someone connected to the above Shearer children. If so could you please tell me more about them. Who, when & where they married please.

Oh!! you are all fantastic Pam, Laurina & Eve. What you have given me through all your time with lookups & posting, I'm positive is "Spot on".
If you ever have queries with ancestors who came to New Zealand plse let me know....I would love to reciprocate your generosity.
My very close friend has formed a site for those who have ancestors who came from or lived in Stronsay & I am delighted I can post more of my ancestors on there and in my personal tree. It is always exciting finding that new information which inevitably leads to more quests. Excited!!!

If you find anymore about George (b. 1797), I would love to hear about it.
I have a Margaret Shearer who married William Craigie and they had a child in 1811. They lived on Gairsay Island. Based on her daughter's age, she would have been born around 1793 at the latest, and possibly earlier. I know she died before 1866. That's all that I know about her. The daughter is Jean Craigie.
