« on: Saturday 30 May 09 10:43 BST (UK) »

I understand from previous postings that William Cramond's Annals of Banff contains details of headstones in Banff cemeteries, particularly St.Mary's old parish.I have an electronic copy of this work but I can find no mention of the cemetery in question.Am I looking in the wrong place.Any help appreciated. I can now answer my own query! The inscriptions for the old St.Mary's kirkyard are available from the "Chronicals of the old Churchyard of Banff" written by James Imlach and is available as an electronic book by Google and has a searchable index at the end which proved really handy Grin.Bob

Well, yes and no. Smiley  James Imlach's version dates from about 30 years earlier than William Cramond's.  There is a Second Volume to The Annals of Banff which contains, amongst other very interesting information, all the MIs in St Mary's churchyard (including that of James Imlach!).  This second volume is very hard to find.  I borrowed mine through inter-library loan at local library.
