Chester Chronicle Archive?
« on: Saturday 30 May 09 19:57 BST (UK) »

Hi, can anyone tell me who keeps copies of Cheshire newspapers? I am assuming I need the Chester Chronical... I am looking for an inquest report on my g.grandad's death in 1935. (He was from Malpas and died there).I know it is usually local libraries who keep them, but having googled I still cannot find a definite answer.  Any help would be gratefully received, ???Thanks alot,

Ronnie

Historic collections of local newspapers are held at the Cheshire Record Office.

..and let's not forget that the newspapers can also be viewed at:

Chester History and Heritage
St Michael's Church
Bridge Street Row
Chester
CH1 1NW

Less informal and no CARN ticket required. Check out :

If you need any help, I'll be there between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday (my lunch hour!).

Hi Shep, I have had a look at the link and that looks ideal too. I am actually in Devon, but I have found that without exception all such places are always very very helpful. Thanks alot,
