Can anyone help with the transcription of the Baptism Entry for Jean Wilcox?

I have made out she was baptised 12 April 1801 and that her father was William.

Can anyone make out any more?

Sarah

Not sure of it all so far but it says after Jean Witnesses William Willox   (or Wilcox) and Jno (John) Ball.

I'll see if I can get it clearer.

I think you've got only half of the entry - there is a line above.

The full entry reads:

April 3rd. Andw Willox in Cri?magate had a Daur bapt. named Jean. Witnesses Wm Willox and Jno Ball (?) thurs (?)

The following line refers to the baptism of a son of Jas Kerr named Andrew.

Here is the entry for others to see if my interpretation is correct.

I think the second witness might be John Gale/Gall - there is a tail below the first letter of the surname, and it doesn't match up with any letters on the line underneath (which reads "had a son")

I read it as:

April 3rd Andw Willox in Crimonmogate had a daur bap named Jean. Witnesses Wm Willox & Jno Gale There.

Not sure about the last word though. The entries seem to be finished with a flourish to indicate the end (see Kerr on the line below)

Crimonmogate looks nice (although I see this house was built in the 1820s so would not have been there at the time of Janet's baptism - pity)
