Westham, East Sussex marriage look up

Hi, l know this is something of a long shot but l wonder if anyone has access to the above PR's and if so would they very kindly look for a marriage c1789 between Robert PEARSON & Elizabeth ?? , l know nothing of this couple other than they baptise a son Edmund there in October 1790.

If anyone can help or offer some guidance l would be extremely grateful.

Hi Robert

I checked the Sussex Marriage Index and the only one that came up is as follows:

Robert Pearson and Elizabeth Thorpe on 9 February 1779 at South Malling.

Have you checked to see if Edmund had any siblings?

Hi Kerry, having just checked the online IGI l see they were baptising children in Westham from about 1781, this would make the marriage you've found very interesting, unfortunately the IGI list does not mention Elizabeths maiden name on any of the baptisms?

I can't thank you enough for this info, it gives me several avenues to explore.

I just looked at the IGI as well and found the same children, sadly South Malling is not there but maybe that is where Elizabeth came from.

It gives me a platform from which to search from and for that l'm grateful to you, next time l'm in the record office l'll take a look at the entry, maybe the witnesses may give some clues, l've just checked and South Malling is approx 14 miles to Westham, not to far, even in the 1780's.
