James Crawford born abt 1810 Greenock

I am trying to find exact birth date or baptism date of James Crawford born abt 1810 in Greenock. He married Janet Wright 19.1.1835 Middle or New Parish Greenock

Can someone tell me if he is the son of John Crawford and Janet Scott who were married in Greenock 4.12.1807

The only James Crawford b. Greenock around then that I can find  in the OPRs is this  baptism

31 Dec 1809 - Greenock Old. Parents:  Andrew Crawford and Janet Shaw (born 24th Dec)

These are records from the established Church of Scotland. If they were of another denomination, he might not show up


His children's names might give some clues if the traditional naming pattern was used.

Thanks for your reply. As he was married in the New or Middle Parish I suspect he would have been a member of the Church of Scotland. I'll see if I can find out more about Andrew Crawford and Janet Shaw
