What was his wife's name

When were each of the children you name born?

Hello

If Kenneth was a middle name and he was actually called John Kenneth Royle, then I think the Sydney that is being sought is the one who married Elizabeth E Sandbach in the first quarter of 1923. The marriage is registered at Northwich and the GRO reference is 8a 436.

There are births registered in Northwich for Royle children with the names specified (subject to opening proviso) and a mother’s maiden name of Sandbach between 1923 and 1936.

The marriage certificate should provide more information about the couple’s ages, fathers and addresses etc.

If you think that the people mentioned above might be the correct ones ....

From the 1911 census index there seems to be only one Royle family with a Sydney living in Northwich. He was born in 1897 and his parents were called Joseph and Elizabeth. That family appear on the 1901 census.

Elizabeth Ellen Sandbach was born in 1896. She appears on the 1911 census index, living in Northwich with parents called John Ed(ward) and Emma. That family also appear on the 1901 census.

It seems to be a reasonable guess that these are the respective families of the couple who married in 1923 but the details from that marriage (for Sydney and Elizabeth) need to be checked in order to verify, especially since there are other people called Sydney Royle and Elizabeth E Sandbach, on the 1901 census, in or near to Northwich. Fortunately, they all have fathers with different first names so the certificate evidence should be conclusive.
