No doubt you wonderful people have (like me) become jaded in the search to discover if
Frederick Raven Patrick  is actually my blood line or the stepson of John Raven Patrick...

Synopsis...

Dads Mom is Esther her father is Frederick Raven Patrick ... all that verified ...and certificated.

Then I decided to sort out Freds Dad  who is down in all the censi' I can find (which does not include 1861    cant find that one) as John Raven Patrick.
I was ok with that  and checked out his attestation papers... etc..
He is down in 1871 as in the Marines and is listed with Sarah and Fred...
I then disovered he had a previous family... namely Emma (nee Taylor ) they had two children.. William and Rachel..
I have Williams b.c.  Emma died 1853 same year that William was born... so possibly death in child birth... i cannot find more for either Rachel or William and so decided they died or were taken in by family...(not too much of a problem).

I managed to find John Raven Patricks father and family due to him being given the middle name Raven... and then eventually with his wedding certificate to Sarah that shows his father as  Samuel..

So then I knew I needed to ascertain his 2nd wifes family... thinking I had all I needed to do that
I set about searching for Sarah Jenkins... and found that the only two Sarah Jenkins born in Leicester at that time were incorrect...
Then the wedding cert stated her name as Jenkinson!!! no father mentioned...

I somehow then began to realise that Fred may not actually be Johns due to his birthdate and the wedding date of John and Sarah........

MANY OF YOU HAVE SO WONDERFULLY OFFERED ME DIFFERENT WAYS TO DISCOVER THE TRUTH...
and before anyone thinks I have positive information... I am sorry that is not so...

BUT  I have taken the advice offered and searched so many times that I may possibly have found something.......................HuhHuh?

John RP was  at some time in Devon Stonehouse... and I came across the fact that he Sarah and Fred had a visitor aged 2 called Emma Jenkins  - 1871 census

I checked this Emma out ... which led me to a Sarah Dailey born in the Devon Stonehouse area... I also found that she had married a John Jenkins  who died in March 1864 -----
Then in April a Sarah Jenkins/on marries John Raven Patrick   ---

SO IS THIS A CIRCLE OF LIGHT OR JUST A VISCIOUS CIRCLE can anyone help  or understand where I am going with this!?  or have I been here before?

Xin...
