Where was she born?

I am trying to find the birthplace of Hannah Cramp wife of Henry Cramp .I can only find the two of them on the 1861 and 1871 census when they both lived in Middlesex.I know Henry was born about 1808 in Anstey Leicestershire,but on the 1861 census Hannah's birthplace was given as Bure Northamptonshire, and on the 1871 it was given as St Giles Northamptonshire ,and I can find neither of these places.

Hi

The 1861 just shows Northamptonshire.  The enumerator has written it as Northampton   shire and the shire has been transcribed as Bure

St Giles seems to be a church in Northampton

therfore I would hazzard a guess she was born in the PArish of St Giles, Northampton

I agree, St Giles is one of the four historic parishes in the town of Northampton.

Do you know her maiden name?

Hannah is found alone in 1851, indexed (correctly looking at the image) as CRUMP

The 1851 has this entry for Clerkenwell Middlesex - all b Leicestershire

William Hamson 34 coal merchant
Fanny 34
Henry Cramp 40 visitor occ servant b Leicestershire - married
John Cramp 30 visitor occ  servant b Leicestershire - married
HO107 Piece 1516 Folio 435 Page 34

To find where Hannah was born will need her maiden name.  She and Henry do not appear to have had any children and seem to have married pre-1837.  They could have married in either Northants, Leics or Middlesex

They did have a child

Herbert Cramp  Christening:  08 MAR 1835   Northampton,    Father:  Henry Cramp    Mother:  Hannah 

So this is the 1841 census for Park End Chetwynd Shropshire - all are shown as not b in county

Ann Shuker 70  Independant 
Henry Cramp 30  male servant
Ann Cramp 30  female servant
Herbert Cramp 6 
George Ross 20  Traveller
HO107 Piece 904/4 Folio 9 Page 12

I would guess they married in Northants so you need any local transcriptions of marriages around 1830-35 as there is nothing on the IGI/BVRI

Here is the baptism entry from the parish register of St Giles

Herbert Cramp, parents Henry a servant and Hannah of Wellington St, born 5th Jan bap 8th Mar 1835

I can't find a marriage for them in the marriage index though
