Hi all
I seem to be getting myself in a tangle here, i have been given some info from the Aus board, re the above family, now i am trying to sort out the uk part...easier said than done ! I am looking for children of Amos SHELTON and Jane MILLS - i have been through census, and seem to get conflicting info,
I thought i was on the right track, finding and now am banging my head on the desk....

It seems some of Amos's and Janes kids came to Aus, but a lot of them i cant even find on the early census ? ?

1841 seems straightforward, with Rhoda and Jane daughters at home with Amos and Jane (John not born yet) and George away from home with a William Hammond I recall ....
Looking at 1851 before emigration ....
1851 - HO107/1958; Folio: 246; Page: 4 - Nymphsfield
Amos (transcribed Ann) is a Widower - Jane and John R. are with him.
George (a Gardener) is Lodging in Westbury on Trim
HO107/1955; Folio: 137; Page: 8

Yes i saw that, but then in later census Jane ( Amos's wife) seems to come back to life
And they also end up with anoth one, Thomas,...

he simply married another Jane - her PoB in the 1861 is Horley / Horsley - in the Stroud Regn District ...

That would be Horsley.
Earlier mentions of places are nowadays spelt Nympsfield (as per title) and Westbury on Trym - although naturally you transcribe what was written at the time.
I add this to enable you to find the places on modern maps etc, not as any kind of correction.
