Wedige from Silberhausen
« on: Wednesday 03 June 09 02:06 UTC (UK) »

I am looking for information on Jakob Wedige and his wife, Willamina Hohenstein from Silberhausen, Germany.  Also his son, Johann Gottlieb Wedige.  Johann's first wife was Karolina Knoch and after the death of Karolina, Johann Gottlieb Wedige married Margareta Quinnemann, the daughter of Christian and Margareta (Knorner) Quinneman.  The Wedige family was Lutheran and it appears they became Catholic in Silberhausen, Germany in 1839.  Johann Gottlieb was born about 1797 and was a cabinet maker at the time of his immigration to the United States.

Thank you.
