Hi,

Please can anyone assist.

I am trying to determine who were the parents of Mary Ellen O'Neil. I know Mary Ellen married Frederick Flint in Easington in 1911 and I have also found her listed on the 1901 census aged abt 9, she is listed as the Grandaughter of Thomas Cassidy and Elizabeth Cassidy living in Lanchester / Durham, however I cannot find who her parents are.

Any ideas?

Hi,
I checked back on Thomas and Elizabeth Cassidy in 1881.
On the census they had a daughter, Mary A. born about 1874.

Had a look at BMD's and found a marriage of Mary Cassidy (Jun, 1890,Lanchester,10a,517) on the same page as James O'Neall.

There's a birth for Mary Ellen O'Neil in Lanchester, (Sep, 1889,10a,281).

I think Mary A. and James were Mary Ellen's parents  Smiley

If you were thinking of getting Mary Ellen's marriage certificate, that should give her father's name and occupation

But I think her birth registration might be this one, (odd spelling)if she was 9 in 1901 census:

Sep 1891   Lanchester    10a   353 or 363  (obviously hard to read)
  O'NIELL Mary Ellen

It would need checking for father's name, there are a few Mary Ellens in the area  Undecided

Thought her baptism might have been on durhamrecordsonline, but can't spot it there
