Stanley G Jones
« on: Tuesday 02 June 09 15:21 BST (UK) »

Huh
My ancestors William Jones & Nellie Jones (nee Ward) started off their married life living in Herbert Road, Small Heath. In later years they lived in The Ring, Yardley  &  Hobmoor Road, Yardley.  Over the years the couple had many children & I have been able to obtain their birth certificates.
Following the couple in the electoral books I noticed in the 1930's that a Stanley G Jones & an Ivy E Jones began to be listed too. I presumed that these were children of William & Nellie who had become eligible to vote  --  indeed, the couple did have a daughter named Ivy Evelyn Jones in 1912 & I have been looking for a birth registration for a Stanley G Jones around the same time period.
I found two entries for Stanley G Jones (mother's maiden name Ward) but both proved to be incorrect.
Does anyone know of any other possibilities at all?  Another thought was that perhaps Stanley may not have been their son  --  could he have been a relative taken in and raised by William & Nellie?
Any help at all would be most grateful please.
Thank you.

If he was 21 when the record first appears he could be a relative - nephew/cousin whatever who was lodging with the family. Not necessarily raised by them, could have moved in as a adult, perhpas working in the area.

Good thinking!  I know from the electoral books that he remained with the family for a good number of years.

Thanks,
