looking for help finding Hugh Murray born oct 8 1854, parents listed as william murray and mary brown, on one of the scotland census it lists his birth place as Newmilns , just can not find him anywhere. thanks in advance jamie

yes i have that census what i am looking for is hugh's birth, just can't seems to find it anywhere, how i know his date of birth is from a old bible , but never sure how accurate that can be, found his parents name on his marriage cerf. but just can't find him listed under these parents.

Hi Whitey
Nothing shows for Hugh's birth pre 1855 and the start official registration in Scotland. There are two children showing for a couple with these names on IGI:
1. DAVID MURRAY Birth: 01 JUL 1858 Milton, Glasgow 2. CHRISTINA MURRAY Birth: 24 JAN 1859 Govan, Lanark
Not sure if these children are siblings to your Hugh though as the 1861 census shows:
William Murray 36, weaver, b. Cotton Weaver Mary Murray 32, b. Cotton Weaver Hugh Murray 6, b. Newmilns, Ayr
Address: 44 Soho St, Bridgeton Glasgow
