finding a marriage

Is there a better way to find a marriage?
I put the name Dorothy Haswell (b. 1832 Longbenton) into search marriages.
I came up with 2 possibles (as I thought)
1858 Newcastle
possibly John Mathews or William Palister
1860 Tynemouth
John Bell or George Robinson.
I then searched the 1861C for each man in turn with a wife by the name of Dorothy,
No success. Is there a way I haven't thought of?

There is also an 1870 although she was getting on a bit by then

According to Northumberland BMD - the 1858 marriage was to John Matthews at St John The Baptist

I did an 1861 search for all Dorothy's b Longbenton 1830-1834

One aged 27 married to Mathias Richardson b 1833 Tanfield Durham - oldest child aged 5.  Can't find a marriage

One aged 30 married to John Rogerson but she was nee Tait

Funny/coincidence Huh as I have found a Dorothy ROBINSON, born 1832 Benton NBL , widow . She is in the household of her brother Christopher HASWELL.

There is this 1861 entry for Bishopwearmouth Durham so you can forget the Haswell/Matthews marriage

The 1861 census shows that Dorothy aged 27 and born West Moor

George was 22 b Seghill

Shocked Never has my gast been so flabbered. . . . . .
