Perhaps I should have said that neither Isabella nor her brother James Taylor Aberdein were living with their parents in 1871 as they, John Aberdein and wife Elizabeth together with daughter Elizabeth were living in Margaret street Poplar London at that time.

Hi Aberdein

For ref:

1871: 8 Margaret Street - Poplar All Saints, London
 RG10 /  Piece: 583\ /  Folio: 37 /  Page: 5
Head: John ABERDEIN 55, Carpenter on the "Murray", b Montrose, Scotland
Wife: Elizabeth ABERDEIN 55, b Montrose, Scotland
Dau: Elizabeth WOOD 29, married, 2nd officers Wife, b Montrose, Scotland

I assume you already know Elizabeth (Aberdein) is in Lanarkshire in 1881 and 1891?  In both cases with son James, and also dau Isabella in 1881?

Do you know where son James was in 1871?

Cheers

Thanks AMBLY

I don`t know where James was in 1871, but here he is in 1881 with sister Isabella and their mum

1881.98,Dumbarton St,Barony,Glasgow,Scotland
Elizabeth Aberdein Head Widow 65                              Born Montrose,Angus,Scotland
James T.        "     Son             29 Copper Engraver       Born London England
Isabella B.     "      Dau             24 Collar & Cuff             Born Montrose,Angus,Scotland

So, in 1871 when he was 19 he must have been an apprentice engraver somewhere

Thanks
