I am hoping to find someone who may have a photo and/or information on Oxleaze Farm and the White Family. Sarah Jane White nee Hathrill 16/5/1850-13/11/1933 and her husband James White 24/10/1840-26/12/1898 lived there.

Hi,
My great great grandparents James & Clara Roberts (1850 - 1920 ish) were the farmers at Oxleaze farm, (1901 census) It was in Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire.
Hope that helps narrow it down as theres more than 1 Oxleaze farm.

Yes looks like there are more than one Oxleaze. The one I am interested in is about 1 and a half kilometres from the village of Woolstone.

Thanks so much for your reply but there are two Oxleaze Farms, the one my folks came from was in between Uffington and Woolstone. Is that the one you are speaking of?

Thanks for your kind offer to do a look-up on Ancestry. However, I do have a subscription to Ancestry. My cousin Clara Emma JACKSON married James Edmund ROBERTS, who was a farmer at Oxleaze Farm, Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire, from about 1891 to 1901 (Census information). Prior to this James and Clara ROBERTS were farmers at "Needlehole" Withington, Gloucestershire. James was born at Bishops Cleeve, the son of Eliza and as yet an unknown father - they were a farming family, as according to the 1851 Census, Eliza ROBERTS was farming 200 acres at Bishops Cleeve. Clara Emma ROBERTS nee JACKSON, also came from a farming background, her parents John and Ann JACKSON, were farming 1200 acres at Coberley, Gloucestershire in 1881. Her mother Ann JACKSON nee COOKE of Swyncombe, Oxfordshire also came from a farming family.
I hope this information might help in working out the problems with Oxleaze Farm.

I should also have mentioned in my last post, that Emanuel or Emmanuel KEARSEY who was recorded at Oxleaze Farm, Sevenhampton, in the 1901 Census, was in fact a cousin of Clara Emma ROBERTS. Emanuel Joseph KEARSEY died at age 19, in 1912.

With regard to this topic started by Merilyn64todhunter:
The Oxleaze Farm that Merilyn is referring to is in the parish of Woolstone, near the village of Uffington and the town of Faringdon, and is now in the County of Oxfordshire. Up until 1974 when the County boundaries were changed, Woolstone was in the County of Berkshire.

Hi, I couldn't help noticing your message as my Great Grandfather was living at Oxleaze Farm in 1921 and he died there in 1921, aged 74, his name was David Whitney and his wife was called Mary Jane. I think that after he died, his wife sold the farm and married someone else and went back to Wales. I know this probably isn't much help to you, but it was just a suprise to see Oxleaze Farm on the notice board,
