From the 1851 Census, I have a John PARKS said to be born c1842, Bodiam with parents Jeremiah Parks born c1795 Sedlescombe and Harriett Parks born c1803, Mountfield. I would appreciate any further help with baptisms of Jeremiah Parks and wife Harriett ? and date of their marriage if possible.

Hi Polly
SMI has the marriage
Jeremiah Parks of Sedlescombe to Harriet Waters at Mountfield on 10 December 1823
so I am guessing John was not their first child.

I wasn't able to find a baptism for Jeremiah on the Sussex Family History Group baptism database but I did find a possible for Harriet.
Harriet Waters baptised 9 November 1803 at Warbleton to Thomas and Jane Waters.

Many thanks to you all for the excellent information and in such quick time as well. I cannot find this PARKES/PARKS family on the 1841 Ancestry Census, but from Bodiam OPC online I have the following children of Jeremiah and Harriett---
Elizabeth 1830, Harriett 1831, Jeremiah 1833, James 1835, Hannah 1837, Edward 1840 and the said John 1842, so quite possibly more children born earlier as Jeremiah and Harriett were married in 1823.
