Hiya, I'm wondering if anyone can help me locate my 3rd grt grandad and his famliy?
I have the following details and 2 possible date of births;
John married in liverpool, on his marriage certifcate in 1867 John was a labourer aged 24(b.1843) status Widower. His father is listed as Richard Boyd -occupation Euston House Clerk.
On subsequent from Census his d.o.b was 1831.
However on the 1871 census his surname is Bird(possibly due to accent not being understood in Liverpool, just a possiblity)
I found a possible15 april 1.832 St Olave Southwick, parents richard and mary boyd. No this date for this family
Other than this I have been unable to trace the family anywere.
The only other possible I have found was a family in liverpool in 1861 all born London Middlesex.
Head: Thomas Bird b. 1826 pub licencee Mum: Mary Bird married Brother: John bird b.1831 dock labourer Brother : Henry Bird b. 1838 Sister: Eliza Bird b.1840
My aunty gave me her aunties and uncles names along with grandparents, who were John Boyd 1877 amd Ellen Cosgrove
SO then I order my grt grandad John Boyd's birth certif in 1877 giving me John boyd and Bridget o'brein as parents. Then I linked up with people searching the same John and bridget to get there childrens names which enabled me to confirm the right family via the census.
Then I ordered John and ellen's marriage certif which had John boyd same occupation.
From there I ordered the marriage certificate for John and Bridget hence finding the the fathers name Richard. But it wasnt uncommon for men to lower age on subsquent marriages it has happened a few times along various lines.
sorry, must be aven a dumb moment sorry for relisting this, I dont do my tree regular at the min, I must forgot to search b4 listing this. soory for the 2 records.
However, there is futher info here that may help those who were helping on the earlier search. As the boyd/bird family in 1861 is proving difficult to find in 1851 to see if the father is richard.
