Dickie/Renwick marriage
« on: Wednesday 03 June 09 20:40 UTC (UK) »

shortly before 6 June 1841, Jean RENWICK married John DICKIE.
They were living in Scotston, Craig Parish (near Montrose) in the 1841 census.
Can't find a record of marriage from here - can anyone help?

Have tried looking on the IGI and Scotlands People - without luck so far.  Can't find children born to the couple either.    :O(

Sorry.  Regards,   Steve .

I note the message below from 04 Feb - I take it a different John Dickie?

"I'm looking for the death of Jean Gove (wife #1), and the marriage of John Dickie and Jane Colby(wife #2). Dates and locations if possible.
All this to figure out which children in my tree came from which mother, as Jean appears in 1841 census, and Jane in 1851 - before they came to Canada".

Hi

I notice from the 1851 census that John was b Glenbervie Mearns and Jane was b Marykirk Mearns just in case they married in their home area

thanks so much everyone!
The issue gets complicated as John Dickie apparently married twice - Jean Renwick died in Canada in 1904, still married to John Dickie.
Jean Gove and Jane Colby are candidates for another marriage. If I can find the Dickie.Renwick marriage it may clear things up somewhat.
cheers,
Dave
