Hi Vic
The closest I can get to records for Williamina is that possibly she was the daughter of a Barbara McLeod who may have later married a William McDonald.
There is a submitted entry on IGI at www.familysearch.org for her with these parents. However, from the 1861 transcript there is this possible entry for her:
Barbra McLeod 27, head, b. Invernesshire Isabel Grigar 14, daughter, b. Arbroath, Forfarshire Williamena McLeod 1, daughter b. Inverness, Invernesshire
Address: 17 Commerc St, Elgin, Moray
These are the children showing on IGI to a William McD and a Barbara McL:
1. MISS MACDONANLD Birth: 01 MAY 1859 Free Church, Alves - member submitted entry 2. WILLIAMINA MCDONALD Birth: About 1860 Inverness, Inverness - member submitted entry 3. JAMES MACDONALD OR MACLEOD Birth: 29 MAR 1863 Elgin - the use of the two surnames implies parents were not married at this stage 4. WILLIAM MC DONALD OR MACLEOD Birth: 23 JUL 1865 Elgin, Moray - as above 5. ALEXANDER MCDONALD Birth: 17 APR 1868 Elgin, Moray 6. JOHN MACDONALD Birth: 12 AUG 1870 Elgin, Moray
This marriage shows on IGI which may be the above couple:
WILLIAM MACDONALD and BARBARA MCLEOD Marriage: 18 DEC 1867 Elgin, Moray
Possible 1881 entry:
William McDonald 42, general lab., b. Bishopmill, Nairnshire Barbara McDonald 40, b. Airde, Invernessshire Williamina McDonald 21, b. Inverness James McDonald 17, b. Elgin William McDonald 14, b. Elgin Alexander McDonald 11, b. Elgin Mary L McDonald 7, b. Elgin
Address: 241 High St (Court), Elgin
I can't see at the moment a reference to Margaret McDonald. What other information do you have on the two girls?

hi monica, thanks for everything BUT.. the Williamina i'm after her parants were definatley William & ANNIE! ( I have her death cert). I also have posted prev. a inquiry on the two, see scotland - inverness posting dated 1/9/08. I am unable to get anything on her. This posting was along shot. I have a strong theory going on her & her parents so I'm trying to prove it. Following leads through all the census's, from William McDONALD's occupation as a gamekeeper it appears he wasn't married to Anne MACDONALD (lived with father Donald) who was a pauper & had a few children! I appreciate your efforts & time, Vicki
