Hi John,
I,m sorry but I do not have a date or place for Thomas's marriage to Esther, I do know that Esther was born in Stagsden about 1776 and died in 1826.
Thomas and Esther had the following children
Campion Gammons 1807-1807 born Stagsden. John Gammons 1808-1859 born Stagsden Susannah Gammons 1811 born Stagsden. Robert Gammons 1813-1881 Born Stagsden. Charles Gammons born 1816 Stagsden Jesse Gammons born 1817-1888 Stagsden.
Jesse Gammons married an Alice Bird born c1817 Sharnbrook Bedfordshire. They had the following children. Elizabeth Gammons born 1838 Stagsden. Thomas Gammons born 1840 Stagsden. Susan Gammons born 1842 Stagsden. Sarah Gammons born 1846 Stagsden. Charles Gammons born 1849 Stagsden. Eliza Gammons born 1851 Stagsden. John Gammons born 1853 Stagsden. Mary Gammons born 1857 Stagsden.
I know there are Gammons decendants in Borehamwood and also Wanstead, I will have to look at my tree further.
Regards
Lyne

Good Morning John,
Just to let you know that I have contacted one of the Gammons descendants to send me a file they have on the Gammons. In the mean time I have been having a look about and found another tree with Thomas Gammons born 1778 in Thurleigh. I dont know if you have this information but I have copied and pasted it anyway.
George GAMMONS was born 1757 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. He was the son of 16. John GAMMONDS and 17. Rebecca.
9. Mary was born ABT 1753. Children of Mary and George GAMMONS are:
i. Thomas GAMMONS was born 1778 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. ii. Rebecca GAMMONS was born 1780 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. iii. William GAMMONS was born 1782 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. iv. Elizabeth GAMMONS was born 1784 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. v. Mary GAMMONS was born 1786 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. vi. James GAMMONS was born 1789 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. vii. Ann GAMMONDS was born DEC 1790 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. 4. viii. Samuel GAMMONS was born 1793 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire. He married Frances. She was born 1795 in Fillgine, Buckinghamshire, and died BEF 1871. ix. Susan GAMMONS was born 1796 in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire.
Regards Lyne PS. Sorry about the smilies they were obviousley there when I copied and pasted.

Hi John,
Yes I do have a tree on GRU although at the moment I havent renewed my subscriptions, so I cannot access other peoples trees until I do.
You will probably know a couple of Gammons descendants that I know via GRU as well.
I take it that you also have the details of George's parents John and Rebecca.
If you are going to the library you might want to look for this. Thurleigh Baptist Women's Meeting annual picnic in Gammons Close, now a playing field. The people are (left to right): Mesdames Dean, Lovell the Rev J C Sheldrick, May Sheldrick, Gammons, Joan Hunt, Daisy Bull (sitting), Mrs Hunt, Gale, Banes, Jefferies, Boydel, Eva Gammons.
It was taken in 1928 according to the information, I found it at the Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Record Service Archives on Line.

John
There seems to be an earlier link between the Gammons of Thurleigh and Cardington.
The 1782 census of Cardington shows William Crockford age 25 born Cardington, and his wife Elizabeth 29 maiden name Gammons born Thurleigh
They appear to have married at Bedford St Paul on 30 Aug 1779 (William Crockford widower), with banns being published in Cardington on 15 Aug 1779 (Elizabeth Gammons of Bedford St Paul)
May be a complete red herring!

Hi John
Elizabeth Gammons was described as of Bedford St Paul in the Cardington banns, so I doubt if there were banns in Thurleigh
The first Elizabeth, Lavender, was buried at Cardington on 27 May 1777. Yes, Mary by the first wife was on the census, plus an Elizabeth born 7 March 1782 and died 13 March 1782.
