Dear Listers, This is my first post to Rootschat. I'm based in Australia and have been involved in genealogy for several years. Genealogy is a hobby for me, one that allows me to pass the day and take my mind off a illness that keeps me housebound.

Well there you are, I did warn you I had a fair bit. If you can fill in where I have no further information I'd truly appreciate any assistance you might be able to give me. Regards, Ray

Have you followed each branch through the censuses? I dont want to duplicate what you already have.
If not - here is Robert in 1871, moved to Poplar area.

Hi Lizdb, Thank you you have been a great help. You gave me, Robert's marriage and place, Elizabeth's marriage date and place, young Emma's birth place, Ellen's birth place, young Elizabeth's birth place, and last Harry's birth place. No, I have no cert's and don't have the census pages. Regards, Grand Pa.

Well I'm not sure how you are researching with no censuses and no certs!!!!
Anyway - lets see what else we can find then.
Here is the whole family in 1841 Sligt discrepancy from what you list (what is your source?) as wife named Mary
HO107 1018 15 Coddenham
William Button 40 Ag lab Mary 45 Daniel 20 George 15 Eliabeth 14 Keziah 11 William 9 Robert 8 Ann 3 Elizabeth 1
Possible marriage for elder dtr Lydia that you list (not with family in 1841): Oc/Nov/Dec 1839 Bosmere Reg District 12 607 Lydia Button only one groom transcribed - Edward Parker, cant saee Lydia and Edward Parker on 1841 so that may not be the right groom

And here is the family in 1851
HO107 1797 218 12
Coddenham William 55 Ag lab bn Pettaugh Mary 56 bn Thornham George 25 bn Cretting William 19 bn Stowham Aspalt Ann 13 bn Coddenham Eliza 11 bn Coddenham Robert 16 bn Coddenham John Button 2 grandson bn Coddenham
I wonder who's son John is?
So Lydia, Daniel, Elizabeth and Keziah not with parents there - lets see if I can find any of them.

Possible marraige for Keziah Jul/Aug/Sep 1850 Bosmere 12 463 Again onlyone of the grooms transcribed, George Douglas Smith. Cant see an appropiate couple on 1851, so may not be ther right groom. Cant see anything obvious for Elizabeth , either a marriage or in 1851.
On to 1861! ( I found Robert and Emma for you before, but will look for the rest of the clan)

1861 William now widowed, with daughter Eliza keeping house. I wonder whose children William and Ann are, and if they are living there or just visiting grandad at the time.

Daniel has died by 1861 too
RG9 1155 1 6 Coddenham
Rachel 40 widow Charwoman bn Stowupland Mary Ann 16 bn Codd. John 12 bn Codd William 11 bn C Daniel 7 bn C
death Jan/Feb/Mar 1860 Bosmere 4a 383 Daniel Button
Looks like the 2 yr old John, bn Coddenham, who was with grandad William in 1851, was a son of Daniel and Rachel.
And Elizabeth, Daniel and rachel's other dtr who was 4 in 1851, is on 1861 at Rg9 1160 132 37 a 14 yr old servant, bn Coddenham, in the h/h of Rev Henry Schnieber, curate of Holbrook

And to finish with for now There was the possibility some posts back that Keziah may have married a George Smith - would need a cert to confirm
However I have found this in 1871 which looks possible (if it is her they have been living in Poplar for some years, looking at childrens birthplaces. Perhaps that is why Robert and Emma moved down there)
RG10 580 80 12 James Street Poplar George Smith 46 stonemason bn poplar Keziah wife 41 bn Suffolk Coddenham George 19 William 17 Ann 15 Emma 13 Emily 10 Alice 8 Henry 6 Clara 4 James 1 all children bn Poplar Middx
1881 is free to search, so hopefully you can enjoy finding some of the family yourself on that one.
