I have Louisa Brakefield baptized 21st April 1841 at St Mary Church in Horton Kirby. Stone is in the Dartford Parish (Kent) as is Horton Kirby. I have re-check the Stone baptisms and there is no Louisa there. Louisa was the daughter of William Brakefield (born 1811) and Sarah Petman, born 1813-1844--she died in Stone. Louisa married Mark Barns 29th October 1863 in Gravesend Kent. If you need more on this family I am happy to help.

Hi, Vall. I would say she is defiantly the right person. I do have her Baptism & marriage entry as well. My maiden name was Brakefield and as the name is not a common one I have nearly all the Brakefield's or, Brackfield--another way of spelling it, I have a marriage certificate with the groom's name splat one way and his father the other way. I have this branch of the family back to 1645 ish. I would prefer to email direct , reasons would be explained. Not sure if we can exchange emails on this site. I would be intrested to know the connections though. What else would you like to know? I have loads of people and it would take an age to post it all here. Regards J.

Hi Vall. No, Sorry I can't help with the other names. Most of the Brakefield's come from around the Goudhurst area in Kent. The earliest I have found is in 1620. Around the early part of the 1800 they moved a little further afield. Louisa's family did come from Goudhurst and went to Southwark in the late 1700. There are Brakefield's in America from a descendant of my line and I email two of their ascendances. We have three convicts sent to Australia one was murdered out there but I have found no children from these guys. Good luck with your research. Regards J.

I am related to the Brakefields of Kent and would like to exchange information (if possible). I'm related through the John Brakefield + Ann Judge line - more specifically, through their daughter Sarah's family.
Regards,
Shannon
