Hi,

This is a difficult one I'm afraid. But I'll give it a try anyway.
Albert Thomaas Wilson & Sarah Jane Hobbs were married 8th april 1892 in Tonbridge.
Sarah died there 15th January 1895.
I'm wondering if she had a child in those 3 years.
Albert left for Ceylon in 1896. He was alone.
On a wedding photo I have found I see Albert and a lot of other relatives. If Sarah is also in the picture, she's holding a baby.
If Albert left alone to Ceylon the baby had also died or he lift him/her with relatives???

So my question: Can anyone lookup for me if there was a child born between 1892 and lets say first half of 1894.
And if the child died before February 1896.

I know, not an easy one, but any help greately appreciated.

Hi,

FreeBMD has this:

Births:   Albert Alfred Wilson  SepQ 1893 Tunbridge       followed by
Deaths:  Albert Alfred Wilson  JunQ 1894 Tunbridge

There are other Wilson births in the area but no matching deaths.

You could order the birth certificate stipulating that the mother must be Sarah Hobbs; £4 refunded if the name does not match.

If you know the likely church you could look for a christening and/or burial.

Hi Nanny Jan,

They were married at the Parish Church, in the Parish of St. Stephen's Tunbridge.
Don't know if their child would have been christened there as well.

Where can I look for a burial/christening?

Hi DMM,

If they remained in the same area there is a good chance that any child would have been christened at the same church.

Parish registers hold details of christenings, marriages and burials; however the churchyard might have been closed by then and  the records of a large, local cemetery would be the place to search.

The records of Tunbridge Wells Borough Cemetery are available to search on a new website: http://www.deceasedonline.com   A basic search is free, then pay per view.
