I am looking for the birth/baptism of Charles Chard b. 1850/54 Axbridge Wrington his father was Charles his mothers maiden name was Hurd, can anyone help at all it is vey much appreciated,

This is possibly his birth registration (from Free BMD)
Births Mar 1853 Chard Charles Axbridge 5c 669
It seems to fit with the family of Charles and Ann in Wrington in the 1861 census.

The cost is £7.

Thank you i will give it a go,
as i have just recieved the my third application sent back to me this morning, i had sent to North Somerset at Weston-S-Mare, then Bath RO they sent it on to Sedgmoor which returned it back as they cannot find him, i am slowly running out of where to look, maybe they may be able find him,

If you quote the reference I gave you there should be no problem getting the certificate although there is a possibility it could be the wrong one ie the names of the parents will be wrong.
Have you been specifying the names of Charles' parents in your requests to the local offices and is this the reason they cannot find the certificate?
We might need to think about this again. Don't want you to spend £7 on the wrong certificate!

yes i did mention his parents on there, they said at the one office they had no surname Chard there at all and it was not a local name when only two weeks earlier they had sent me his brothers certificates, which i thought strange i did ask where else i could send too not knowing the areas as i do not live near etc, they said it depends on where he was born on telling them, they then said it depends on where registered,

I could see the birth registrations in the same district (Axbridge) for 2 of Charles' younger siblings.
Perhaps the best thing to do is order the certificate from the GRO but ask for a reference check, specifying that father's name should be Charles. There are instructions about this on the site I gave you. It does mean that, if the reference is for the wrong Charles, you will get a partial refund rather than lose all your £7.

Just to let you know i got the cert from the GRO it was the one with reference that you mentioned earlier, i think i will send for all my certs this way it seems less hazzle,
