An ancestor was buried in the Family Vault at Scholemoor Cem. in May 1869. I understand that there are 4 others buried there too and would like to find their names and dates of burial. I do not know when they died but I do have the interment numbers. I am told the books (held at Bradford central Library) show the burials in date order and I am not sure whether or not a search can be made solely on the interment numbers. I think probably not, but can anyone confirm this? I cannot reasonably expect anyone to plough through all the books on my behalf and I don't know when I can get to Bradford (I live in mid Scotland). Has anyone any advice? I know I can pay £48 for a search by the staff but that's a bit excessive! Thanks Chirp

Hi, I think the Bradford Family History Society has entries for Scholemoor and joinging them would be cheaper than 48 GBP- and more fun.
Some years back when i was a memeber of that FHS I got Scholemoor info from them. maybe this is an alternative if no one can do a lookup.

Chirp., You may not even have to join to get info about Schoolemoor-- maybe they will do a lookup for a set fee or a donation. They are a very decent crew and will be straight forward ahnd helpful.

Thank you Charlotte and Brian I have looked at the Bradford FHS website and could not find a reference to their having Scholemoor details. I have emailed them however so hope to learn more when they reply. Chirp

Chirp, About 15 yrs ago the Sec of Bradford FHS was photographing and recoding MIs in Schoolemoor... I wrote and asked about our family grave and he took photos ... the inscription was in 5 star order despite it being there since 1867. I paid for the photos- all the data was on the headstone and legible so it was unnecessary to get a print out of it. I tell you this as you say they don't advertise that they have this info...

This is very helpful Charlotte. How pleased you must have been to see such a clear image giving you all that family detail! Fingers crossed that I get lucky too. I will report back to let other Rootschatters know the outcome. Chirp
