DORE family
« on: Saturday 06 June 09 11:41 UTC (UK) »

 ;DWonder if anyone can help.

I'm trying to find out more about the family of Luke DORE, who seems to have been a gamekeeper for the Earl of Peterborough, he is also called of Rodborn in his burial entry, b. about 1763, buried Great Somerford 18/2/1824.

He married Elizabeth (bap. as Betty) SANSOM (maybe SAMPSON), dau of Edward SANSOM  & Israel PALMER. She was bap. Great Somerford 20/7/1760, bur. there 8/1/1826.
The IGI states they had 2 daughters: Elizabeth DORE, bap. Dauntsey 9/1/1789 & Mary DORE, bap. Dauntsey 22/2/1791.  I would like to find out what happened to both these daughters but have come up against a brick wall!

Hi Craig,
Is the birth dates of the daughters the latest info you have on them?

Yes Charlotte,

I got them from the IGI and backed-up by the Dauntsey transcriptions online at www.henly.f9.co.uk/wiltshire/daunt-ca-f.txt

The only possible marriage entry on the IGI I noted was that of an Elizabeth Dore's at Dauntsey on 5/7/1813 to an Isaac Belcham.  However I can find no further reference to them on any of the online records, including the link I just sent you.
