Charles Britten Johnson, MD, surgeon m Clun
« on: Tuesday 09 June 09 00:22 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to find when & where Charles Britten Johnson was born & who his parents were.  He married Elizabeth Evans in Clun in 1808. I found their 2 daughters living with their uncle, Thomas Evans, retired GP in Clun, their mother's bro on the 1851 census.  They were both b in Binghamton, Broome Co, NY, USA but British Citizens. I googled Chas B Johnson & found he'd written 2 books on "The British Settlement in Susquahanna Co, PA"  around 1819 & they gave his dates as 1788?-1835. I don't know if he died in the US or back in the UK. Emily Evans Johnson his oldest dau was at school in Leominster on the 1841 census, but I don't know what happened to her mother either, I can't find her death. I'd be interested in any info anyone can give me please on how to find out more about Chas & his wife. Also I can't find any other children except these 2 daughters, & it seems odd that they were m in 1808 & had no children until 1830!!  Any ideas anyone please?   Amberly
