Hall marriage and birth Chapel en le Frith
« on: Sunday 07 June 09 09:52 UTC (UK) »

Help, I am so confused again.  I have just realised a relative on my tree cannot be the correct one as he would have only been 13 when he married.  There are dozens of Halls and many with same names.  My definite is Thomas born 1801 and christened 24/1/1802.  Is there anywhere online where I can obtain a copy of the entry to get the parents name etc.  He married Ellen Brown in Horton, Staffs on 20/4/1828 and I could do with a copy of that also but not sure where to get it.  I did have Thomas Hall born 1787 as his father, who married 1800, Castleton, Chapel but only just realised he wouldnt be old enough.  I have noted all the Halls around but it is a mammoth task trying to link them so if I could get these two entries it would make life much easier, thanks mbee

Hi there

There is a transcript of your Thomas' baptism (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dusk/chapel-e-l-f_baptisms.htm#d1800)

24 Jan 1802 Thomas son of Thomas Hall.

Ask for a look up of Horton Staff PRs for Thomas' marriage on the Staffordshire Board, hopefully someone will be able to find the entry for you

Good luck searching

Thanks Shirl but do you know if copies of actual entries are available anywhere I need to see the mothers name because there are so many Halls in the area including Thomas's.  mbee

Hi there

The original registers would be held at the records office in Matlock, although it does look like where there was a mother's name it was shown on those transcriptions. Mind you there is nothing better than to look at the actual records, try a specific request for a Chapel en le Frith PR look up on rootschat mentioning the freepages one you have or someone may just give you the same detail.

Hope you find him or hope the detail just happens to be on Thomas' marriage record if you manage to get that.
