It seems odd that Alfred DOES NOT APPEAR in any of the census with this family?

Found him atlast! Transcribed as Alfred Denis - Seems to live with his grandparents in 1881 and 1891. On his own in 1901

Yes he's even there in 1871 - see above

I've found all the children in the 1901 census - none have Daisy with them! Maybe she was a niece of his wife and mistranscribed as Dewis

I'm giving up with Daisy... searched the birth records - no luck. Looked at 1899, 1900, 1901, 1902 - no one even using Daisy as a middle name.
