Father of Richard Morgan
« on: Sunday 07 June 09 13:37 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to find any details about my great great great grandfather. I have details of his son Richard Morgan (my great great grandfather), born 1803 in Etchingham, Sussex, UK, but can't get any further.

Hi,

You have to be wary of submitted entries on the IGI.

I cannot see an entry for Richard Morgan in the Etchingham records on the Sussex Family History site, however there is a baptism for a Richard Morgan 17 Aug 1800 in nearby Mountfield. Parents of Richard were John & Henny.

I was wondering what other details you had about Richard Morgan, it might help to match him to that christening or dismiss it.

Hi

I have had a look at the Sussex Marriage Index and can confirm the marriage found above.

Richard Morgan and Harriet Baker married at Etchingham on 25 December 1828 botp by banns

Sadly no other details like witnesses.
