Clift Family of Newport
« on: Sunday 07 June 09 18:09 UTC (UK) »

Hi. Being new to this site I hope I use the correct protocols.

From the mid 1800 my ancestors lived in Newport and although I have managed to gather a lot of information (Census etc) on them I would like to get in touch with others who knew them or may even have photographs or letters from them.

Reuben Clift born 1845 in Cherrington, married Sarah Powell of Edgmond. They lived in Vineyard road and later moved to Bromfield Place, later changed to Broomfield place.
There children were:

Mary Ann Clift 1872-1873
William Clift 1873-1943
John Clift 1875-1910
Richard Clift 1876-
Herbert Clift 1877-
Charles Clift 1879-
Sarah Ann Clift 1881-1952
Alice Elizabeth Clift 1882-1969
Louisa Clift 1884-1956
Nellie Clift 1886-
Edith Clift 1887-
Emily Clift 1890-1975
Florrie Clift 1892-1975
Arthur George Clift 1895-1895.

William marries Mary Elizabeth Moore of Market Drayton.
Their Children are:

Florence Clift 1898-1899
William Clift 1899-1940
Charles Henry Clift 1901-1902
Dorothy Anie Clift 1903-1984
John (Jack) Clift 1906-1977
Arthur Leslie Clift 1908-1978
Harold Ernest Clift 1910-1980

Any information about the above or any other Clift families from Newport I would be glad to hear from you.

Martin
