Hi Mark,

I'm not researching this family, but here is a tip for you, in case you don't know this site already:

The Dorset OPC site www.dorset-opc.com has loads of info. B, M, D, Census, etc for Dorset.

Enter "samways" in the search box and it finds 188 entries.
Enter "samways weymouth" and "Find ALL words" and it has 86 entries.

Have a look and see if you recognise anybody,

Good luck,
Bob

I strongly suggest you contact the Weymouth Museum.  I know you will find someone there who can help, but the rules here don't allow me to give details.

Do you have a William Samways in your family tree? He married Harriet Goodfellow in 1814.

William born 1815
George born 1817
Philip born 1819
Charles born 1821
Samuel born 1824
