Hi lou, most likely your local library would have some old maps and could help... worth asking them as you are on the spot.

lou,
From the maps Gary is directing you to, you will notice that there were two brickworks, one to the east of Double and Single Junction Rows, and one to the west ( just east of the old Cramlington Waggonway, today the B1505 , with A189-the Spine Rd, alongside it.)
Many brickworks were alongside a coal pit- plenty of clay etc left over from the "sinking" of the pit, and plenty of coal for ovens etc.

Hello Mrs Louis, I read your message and was amazed to see my Grandparents (Frances Langman and Thomas Williams) on your question. I am Connie Baxter (nee Williams) I am the daughter of their eldest son Thomas Williams, I was born and brought up in Cramlington. I have done a lot of my family tree. I have got back to the 1700's with the Langman/Hendy's but not very far with the Williams's. My cousin David Nicholson (Irene Williams's son) has done a lot too, he and his wife Helen went to the village in Wales where our Grandfather was born but didn't get very far. I'd love to know who you are, and what relation you are to me. I suspect by your name you are a member of my aunt Ella's family and I can remember my uncle Louis from when I was young. I'd love to hear from you.
