The "General Grant" Book Launch
« on: Friday 05 June 09 00:10 UTC (UK) »

Descendents of passengers and crew of the "General Grant" which sank off New Zealand  May 1866. There is to be a book launch in Sydney late June for a new publication concerning the ship and people of the "General Grant". The author is trying to find some of the descendents to attend. Only 10 people survived after a harrowing 18 months on a deserted island. My great, great grandfather Joseph Jewell  and his wife Mary were two of them. Mary being the only woman.
