7th son of a 7th son
« on: Thursday 24 February 05 14:18 GMT (UK) »

Hi

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone again for all the help.
I am now on the hunt for some more children for George and Emma Goodman as my hubby's uncle always says he is a 7th son of a 7th son.

The info I have is as follows

George married Emma Collett 20th Jan 1862 in Holy Trinity Kentish Town. from census info I know they had

    Janet           1863 Uxbridge
    Alice             1864 Poplar
1  George         1865 Bermonsey
    Eliza             1866 Bromley Bow
2  David Henry  1867 Harefield
3  George W      1869 Surrey
4  Edmund        1873 Surrey
    Ellen              1878 Surrey
5  Ernest Obid   1880 b St Olave Southwark
   Jack/john        1882 ?
   Alfred             1883 ?
   John              1884 ?
   walter

Any help would be great

Sorry that should read 1871.

Someone already helped me in 1861 but george wasn't married then so no children to help with the search for sons.

1871 would be good if its available anywhere?

Thanks

Haven't been able to find them in 1871 yet, but here they are in 1881 to narrow the search a little. Looks like I should be searching around Surrey by the look of the kids birth places  Grin

Thanks for all your help.

I think i'm going to have to check parish records to try and prove it.

Janey

In your list right at the beginning of this request you have
1  George         1865 Bermonsey

Don't seem to see him in later censuses.
He would of course make it 7 boys?
And how many girls- goodness me. I found two boys a handful Roll Eyes
Did he die then, for baby born 1869 to also be called George.

You're right. what a lot. 16 in all I think but not all of them survived. so I'm thinking there may be a couple of sons along with the 1st George between census that died. Ernest Obid (who I hoped was the 7th but isn't the youngest) had seven sons then one daughter !

This is the largest family I've come across so far but I do have another branch that has 12 siblings !!!
