Hi Lucy,

If given the choice, I would order the transcript rather than the certificate, and I would order it to be sent as a pdf file to my email address.   It works out to be about half the price of the certificate, and you get all the details that appear on the full certificate, so long as you order the full transcript.  That means you get far more than appears on the index online.   It often means that you get the transcript much quicker than the certificate ... weeks sooner...

I'm sure that Cando and Jenn will be supportive of my thoughts about that....

Thanks Just Moi
I have emailed a transcription agent, and will at last check out that death in Parramatta 1970.

Also, I have been reading on google about the 'soldiers settlement blocks'.  Very interesting reading, about the 'diggers'.  I am wondering if a British soldier from WW1 would have qualified under this settlement programme?   And would that have been what enticed Thomas to Australia?
From what I have read, the programme was not very successful, and many found a living could not be made on the land available, leading to much disappointment.  The location of Yenda, between Ardlethan and Hay, leads me to think there is a strong possibility that this may be the right track.

Thanks again

Lucy

Lucy I will type up again the electoral roll listings for the Yenda address....this is not your Tom RODGERS.

Australian Electoral Roll 1900-1936 - not all years are available and only 1930 and 1936 for NSW.
1930 - only RODGERS enrolled to vote at YENDA.
RODGERS Nellie Isabella  Farm 1349   Yenda   HD
RODGERS Tom  Soldiers Settlement  Yenda  No occupation

1936
RODGERS Nellie Isabella  Farm 1349  Yenda  HD
RODGERS Thomas Trevor  Farm 1349  Yendas  Orchardist

and then the death of the above Thomas
Quote
1968 death for a Thomas Trevor R RODGERS registered in the Griffith district shows his parents first names as Tom and Harriet  (44554/1968).
JM

I can't see how you are on the right track.  Tom RODGERS aka Thomas Trevor RODGERS has a WW1 Service Record and was born 1887 England and I have located him with parents Thomas and Harriet on the 1891 census.

Thomas Trevor RODGERS is buried in the Yenda Cemetery, Methodist Section Row E, Grave 08 along with a Millie Isabella RODGERS who died in 1978.  I would think the name Nellie Isabella on the electoral roll is a mistranscription...should be Millie.

Would you please read the service record to satisfy yourself that this is not Thomas RODGERS b. Belfast.

I thought your Thomas RODGERS was in India to 1925.

Edit to add burial information.
